Our Story
The dream began in 2021 when we took over Dory’s Takeaway, the much-loved fish and chip shop next door. Soon after, the opportunity arose to expand into the restaurant space — and that’s how Kelp was born.
From day one, our vision for Kelp has been clear: to create a modern coastal restaurant that brings together great food, local produce, and a warm, relaxed atmosphere where the community can gather. It’s a place to celebrate, connect, and enjoy Ballina at its best.
